羽叶黄檀,又名斜叶檀(《中国中药资源志要》),斜叶黄檀(《中国植物志》)。乔木,高3-13m。有曲折匍匐枝,或为灌木状藤本,幼枝密被短柔毛。奇数羽状复叶,互生,长10-14cm;叶柄被褐色短柔毛;托叶披针形,长约5mm,密被微柔毛;小叶21-41,斜长圆形,长1.5-1.9cm,宽约7.5mm,先端圆或微缺,基部斜楔形,两面有短柔毛;叶轴密被短柔毛。花与叶同时开放,圆锥花序腋生,有或无短总花梗,花序具有伞房状枝;总花梗、花序枝和花梗均密被微柔毛;基生小苞片和副萼状小苞片卵形,被微柔毛,不脱落;花萼钟状,带淡黄色,外面有或无毛,萼齿卵形,上面2齿近于合生;花冠白色,瓣片有长爪,旗瓣卵形,反折;雄蕊9-10,单体;子房有柄,无毛。荚果舌状,长2.5-6.5cm,宽1-1.3cm,干后棕色。种子1-3颗。花期1-3月,果期6-7月。
Dalbergia odorifera, also known as slanting leaf rosewood in "Compendium of Chinese Herbal Medicine Resources" and slanting leaf rosewood in "Flora of China", is a tall tree reaching 3-13m in height. It has twisted and creeping branches, or can grow as a shrubby vine, with young branches densely covered in short soft hairs. Its odd-pinnate compound leaves are alternate, 10-14cm long, with leaf stalks covered in brown short soft hairs, and lanceolate stipules about 5mm long, densely covered in tiny soft hairs. It has 21-41 leaflets, oblique-elliptic in shape, 1.5-1.9cm long and about 7.5mm wide, with rounded or slightly notched tips, oblique wedge-shaped bases, and short soft hairs on both surfaces, while the leaf rachis is densely covered in short soft hairs. The flowers and leaves bloom simultaneously, with axillary racemes, sometimes with short pedicels, and umbrella-like branches; the pedicels, raceme branches, and flower stalks are all densely covered in tiny soft hairs. The basal bracteoles and pseudocalyx are ovate, covered in tiny soft hairs, and do not fall off; the calyx is bell-shaped, pale yellow, with or without hairs on the outside, and the calyx teeth are ovate, with the upper 2 teeth nearly connate. The corolla is white, with long claws, and the standard petal is ovate and reflexed. It has 9-10 stamens, each with a single anther, and the ovary is stalked and hairless. The pod is tongue-shaped, 2.5-6.5cm long and 1-1.3cm wide, turning brown when dry, containing 1-3 seeds. It flowers from January to March and fruits from June to July.
