Ge-ye-hui-qin, name of Chinese Medicinal Material. Pimpinella coriacea) is the whole herb with roots of the umbelliferous plant Pimpinella coriacea (Franch.) de Boiss. [Carum coriaceum Franch.]. It has the functions of warming the middle energizer and dispelling cold, dispelling wind and eliminating dampness, and promoting blood circulation and regulating menstruation. It is mainly used for treating stomach cold and abdominal pain, wind-cold-damp arthralgia, and irregular menstruation.

形态特征 Morphological Characteristics

多年生草本,高30-70cm。根长达10cm。茎常单生,中、上部有少数分枝。基生叶和茎中、下部叶有柄;叶片近革质,心形,长2-5cm,宽1-3cm,背面被毛,边缘有锯齿,茎上部叶较小,无柄,3裂或近于羽状分裂,裂片披针形。复伞形花序;总苞片1-2,线形,或无;伞辐8-20,有毛;小总苞片1-3,线形,短于花柄;无萼齿;花瓣白色,基部楔形,先端凹陷,有内折小舌片。果实卵球形,有毛;每棱槽内有油管1-3,合生面油管2-4。花果期5-10月。
Perennial herb, 30-70cm tall. The root can grow up to 10cm long. The stem is usually solitary, with a few branches in the middle and upper parts. The basal leaves and the lower and middle stem leaves have petioles; the leaf blade is nearly leathery, heart-shaped, 2-5cm long, 1-3cm wide, hairy on the back, with serrated margins. The upper stem leaves are smaller, sessile, 3-lobed or nearly pinnately divided, with lanceolate lobes. Compound umbel inflorescence; involucral bracts 1-2, linear or absent; rays 8-20, hairy; small involucral bracts 1-3, linear, shorter than the pedicels; no calyx teeth; petals white, wedge-shaped at the base, apex concave, with inwardly folded small lobes. Fruit ovoid, hairy; 1-3 oil tubes in each groove, 2-4 oil tubes on the commissural face. Flowering and fruiting period from May to October.

Distributed in southwestern China and Guangxi, among other regions.

生于海拔950-3200m的沟边或林缘。
Found on valley sides or forest margins at altitudes of 950–3200 meters.
