Hui-xiang-gen, name of Chinese Medicinal Material. Fennel Root). It is the root of Foeniculum vulgare Mill., a plant belonging to the Umbelliferae family. 用法用量 Dosage and Administration
内服：煎汤，9-15g，鲜品加倍；或鲜品捣汁；或泡酒。外用：捣敷；或煎汤洗。
Internal use: Decoction, 9-15g, double the amount for fresh herbs; or pound fresh herbs for juice; or soak in alcohol. External use: Pound for poultice; or decoct for washing.
注意事项 Precautions
阴虚火旺者禁服。
Those with Yin deficiency and excessive internal heat should avoid taking it.
化学成分 Chemical Composition
根含挥发油。油含莳罗油脑、α-松油烯、γ-松油烯、异松油烯、α-蒎烯、β-蒎烯、β-月桂烯、α-水芹烯、对聚伞花素、柠檬烯等。尚含棕榈酸豆甾醇酯，5-甲氧基呋喃香豆精、豆甾醇、伞形花内酯。
Root contains volatile oil. The oil contains dill ether (dill apiole), α-terpinene, γ-terpinene, terpinolene, α-pinene, β-pinene, β-myrcene, α-phellandrene, p-cymene, limonene, etc. It also contains palmitic acid steryl ester, 5-methoxyfuranocoumarin, stigmasterol, and umbelliferone.
