Cao-ling-xian, name of Chinese Medicinal Material. also known as Veronicastrum sibiricum (L.) Pennell [Veronica sibirica L.], is the whole plant or root of the herbaceous plant in the family Scrophulariaceae. It has the functions of dispelling wind and dampness, detoxification, and hemostasis. It is mainly used to treat colds, rheumatic lower back and leg pain, muscle pain, and cystitis. When applied externally, it can be used to treat traumatic bleeding, snake bites, and insect bites.
