形态特征 Morphological Characteristics

穗花杉，又名华西穗花杉、岩子柏。灌木或小乔木，高达7m。树皮灰褐色或淡红褐色，裂成薄片状脱落。小枝斜伸或向上伸展，圆形或近方形；一年生小枝绿色，2-3年生枝绿黄色。叶条状披针形，直或微弯呈镰状，长3-11cm，宽6-11mm，先端尖或钝，基部渐狭，楔形或宽楔形，有极短的叶柄，边缘微向下弯，下面白色气孔带与绿色边带等宽或较窄。雄球花1-3(通常2)穗集生，长5-6.5cm，种子椭圆形，长2-2.5cm，径约1.3cm，成熟时假种皮鲜红色，柄长约1.3cm，扁四棱形。花期4月，种子10月成熟。
The Suixi Fir, also known as the Huaxi Suixi Fir or the Yanzibai, is a shrub or small tree that can grow up to 7 meters tall. The bark is gray-brown or light reddish-brown, and peels off in thin flakes. The twigs are obliquely spreading or ascending, and are round or nearly square in shape; the first-year twigs are green, while the twigs of 2-3 years are green-yellow. The leaves are linear-lanceolate, straight or slightly curved like a sickle, 3-11cm long and 6-11mm wide, with a pointed or blunt apex, gradually narrowing at the base, wedge-shaped or broadly wedge-shaped, with very short petioles, slightly downward-curved margins, and white stomatal bands on the lower surface that are as wide as or narrower than the green bands. The male cones are borne in clusters of 1-3 (usually 2), and are 5-6.5cm long, with elliptical seeds that are about 2-2.5cm long and approximately 1.3cm in diameter. When mature, the false seed coat is bright red, with a stalk about 1.3cm long and flattened quadrangular in shape. The flowering period is in April, and the seeds mature in October.
