蛇藤,中药名。为豆科金合欢属植物羽叶金合欢Acaciapennata(L.)Willd.[MimosapennataL.]的根及老茎。植物羽叶金合欢,分布于云南、广东、福建。具有祛风渗湿,活血止痛之功效。主治腰肌劳损,跌打损伤,风湿痹痛,渗出性皮炎,阴囊湿疹,下肢溃疡。
She-teng, name of Chinese Medicinal Material. The root and old stem of Acacia pennata (L.) Willd. [Mimosa pennata L.], a plant of the genus Acacia in the legume family. Acacia pennata is distributed in Yunnan, Guangdong, and Fujian. It has the functions of dispelling wind and dampness, promoting blood circulation, and relieving pain. It is mainly used for lumbar muscle strain, bruises, rheumatic pain, exudative dermatitis, scrotal eczema, and lower limb ulcers.

羽叶金合欢,别名南蛇筋藤、南蛇箣(《中国高等植物图鉴》)。攀援、多刺藤本;小枝和叶轴均被锈色短柔毛。总叶柄基部及叶轴上部羽片着生处稍下均有凸起的腺体1枚;羽片8-22对;小叶30-54对,线形,长5-10毫米,宽0.5-1.5毫米,彼此紧靠,先端稍钝,基部截平,具缘毛,中脉靠近上边缘。头状花序圆球形,直径约1厘米,具1-2厘米长的总花梗,单生或2-3个聚生,排成腋生或顶生的圆锥花序,被暗褐色柔毛;花萼近钟状,长约1.5毫米,5齿裂;花冠长约2毫米;子房被微柔毛。果带状,长9-20厘米,宽2-3.5厘米,无毛或幼时有极细柔毛,边缘稍隆起,呈浅波状;种子8-12颗,长椭圆形而扁。花期3-10月;果期7月至翌年4月。
Albizia julibrissin, also known as Nanshejinteng or Nanshece (from "Flora of China"), is a climbing, prickly vine. Its small branches and leaf stalks are covered with rust-colored short soft hairs. There is a raised glandular body at the base of the petiole and slightly below where the leaflets attach on the rachis. It has 8–22 pairs of pinnae, with 30–54 pairs of linear leaflets per pinna, 5–10 mm long and 0.5–1.5 mm wide, closely adjacent, apex slightly blunt, base truncate, with ciliate margins, and midvein near the upper edge. The spherical head-like inflorescence is about 1 cm in diameter, borne on a 1–2 cm peduncle, solitary or in clusters of 2–3, arranged in axillary or terminal panicles, covered with dark brown pubescence. The calyx is nearly campanulate, about 1.5 mm long, 5-toothed; the corolla is about 2 mm long; the ovary is sparsely pubescent. The fruit is a strap-shaped pod, 9–20 cm long and 2–3.5 cm wide, glabrous or minutely pubescent when young, slightly raised at the margins, shallowly undulate; containing 8–12 flattened, oblong-elliptic seeds. Flowering occurs from March to October; fruiting from July to April of the following year.
