The leaves are alternate, inversely ovate to inversely ovate-oblong, 4–10 mm long, 3.5–7 mm wide, bluntly rounded at the apex, with a few indentations or acute tips, and broadly cuneate at the base, with entire margins. The upper surface is hairless or sparsely hairy, while the lower surface is covered with short, grayish-white soft hairs; the petiole is 1–2 mm long, with short soft hairs. The flowers are usually solitary, occasionally 2–3, with very short pedicels; the flowers are white, about 1 cm in diameter; the calyx tube is bell-shaped, with fine hairs on the outside, and the sepals are triangular; the petals are spreading, 5 in number, nearly circular. The pome is spherical, 5–6 mm in diameter, red, and often has 2 small seeds.
