木香花是攀援小灌木植物,高可达6米;小枝圆柱形,无毛,有短小皮刺;老枝上的皮刺较大,坚硬,经栽培后有时枝条无刺。小叶3-5,稀7,连叶柄长4-6厘米;小叶片椭圆状卵形或长圆披针形,长2-5厘米,宽8-18毫米,先端急尖或稍钝,基部近圆形或宽楔形,边缘有紧贴细锯齿,上面无毛,深绿色,下面淡绿色,中脉突起,沿脉有柔毛;小叶柄和叶轴有稀疏柔毛和散生小皮刺;托叶线状披针形,膜质,离生,早落。花小形,多朵成伞形花序,花直径1.5-2.5厘米;花梗长2-3厘米,无毛;萼片卵形,先端长渐尖,全缘,萼筒和萼片外面均无毛,内面被白色柔毛;花瓣重瓣至半重瓣,白色,倒卵形,先端圆,基部楔形;心皮多数,花柱离生,密被柔毛,比雄蕊短很多。花期4-5月。分布区域
The Magnolia vine is a climbing shrub that can grow up to 6 meters high. Its small branches are cylindrical, hairless, with short prickles. The prickles on older branches are larger and harder, but sometimes the branches become prickless after cultivation. Each leaf consists of 3-5 (rarely 7) leaflets with petioles 4-6 centimeters long. The leaflets are elliptic-ovate or lanceolate, 2-5 centimeters long and 8-18 millimeters wide, with acute or slightly obtuse tips, rounded or broadly wedge-shaped bases, closely serrated margins, smooth upper surfaces, light green lower surfaces, raised midribs, and soft hairs along the veins. The leaflet petioles and rachises have sparse soft hairs and scattered small prickles. The stipules are linear-lanceolate, membranous, free, and early falling. The small flowers are arranged in umbel-like inflorescences, with a diameter of 1.5-2.5 centimeters. The flower stalks are 2-3 centimeters long, hairless. The sepals are ovate, gradually pointed at the tip, entire, hairless on the outside, and covered with white soft hairs on the inside. The petals are semi-double to double, white, inverted-ovate, with rounded tips and wedge-shaped bases. There are numerous carpels, with free styles densely covered in soft hairs, much shorter than the stamens. The flowering period is from April to May. Distribution area.
