桂林栲,又名锥《中国高等植物图鉴补编》,锥栗栲、野板栗栲《云南种子植物名录》,米锥、桂林锥《中国树木志》。乔木,高达20m,胸径60cm。树皮暗灰色,老时纵裂。小枝有椭圆形皮孔,无毛。叶互生;叶柄长1-2.5cm;叶片披针形或卵圆披针形,长7-18cm,宽2-5cm,先端渐尖,基部常圆形或宽楔形,中部以上有锯齿,网络较明显,叶两面近同色,中脉在上面有突起,无毛,羽状侧脉10-12对。花单性,雌雄同株;雄花序圆锥状或穗状,花序轴几无毛,雄花绿白色,细小,排成直立,分枝的圆锥状或穗状花序,簇生于小枝顶端;雌花每朵藏于一总苞内,排成一短的穗状花序。总苞径约2.5cm,外被密生鹿角状锐刺,成熟时开裂,3-4裂瓣,壳斗壁厚1-1.5mm,刺长0.7-1.4cm,基部或中部以下汇合生成刺束,较密生,壳斗内壁密被棕色长绒毛,外壁及刺幼时被灰色细毛,壳斗成熟时近无毛,每壳斗具1坚果;坚果近卵形,直径1-1.3cm,高1.2-1.6cm,无毛,脐部与果底部几同大。花期5-7月,果期翌年9-11月。分布区域
