Euphorbia pulcherrima, also known as poinsettia, is a member of the Euphorbiaceae family. It is characterized by its green leaves and distinctive red bracts.
无刺灌木或小乔木，高2～5m。含乳状汁液。分枝对生或轮生，圆柱状，嫩枝稍肉质，绿色。叶少数，散生。线状长圆形，长约lcm，或退化为不明显鳞片状；无托叶。杯状聚伞花序通常有短总花梗，簇生于枝端或枝叉上；总苞陀螺状，直径约2mm，内面有短柔毛；腺体5，无花瓣状附属片；雄蕊少数；苞片边缘撕裂，基部多少合生；花柱下部多少合生，顶端2裂，柱头头状。蒴果直径约6mm，暗黑色。有贴伏柔毛。种子卵形，平滑，无疣状突起或皱纹。生长环境
